After leaving The Gathering, she dedicated the majority of her time to her family. Two years later, she started her own project called ‘Agua de Annique’. Under that name, she released three succesful albums. In 2011, she decided to proceed with this project with her own name ‘Anneke van Giersbergen’.
Throughout the years, Anneke has collaborated with several very well-known musicians and bands in the metalscene.
Some of them are: Danny Cavanagh (Anathema), The Devin Townsend Project, Napalm Death, Moonspell, Ayreon and Within Temptation.
In 2012, Anneke released the first album under her own name. This album called ‘Everything Is Changing’ has gotten a lot of positive feedback and review, and now it’s time for the next album. The latest album is called ‘Drive’, and is already for sale.
It’s an album that shows that Anneke’s creative skills are still flourishing, which makes us wish that she will have a long career still ahead of her.
