Asaf will give an enthralling acoustic concert as part of his 'Back to Basics' worldtour. A special night and a must-attend, 'cause "one day, baby, we'll be old and think of all the stories that we could have told".An intriguing background storyThe story behind the musician that was born in Jerusalem, and grew up in Jamaica and New York is intriguing. Just shy of seven years ago, the 33-year old animator did nog have any musical aspirations or background whatsoever.A very nasty break-up made him process his sorrow through music, which caused him to find his voice. He quit his job, left Tel Aviv, and focussed entirely on music from then on.The breakthrough: The Reckoning SongThe point of his big breakthrough was reached in 2012, when Avidan's "The Reckoning Song/One Day" occupied the charts and the whole world was introduced to the hypnotic, angrogyne voice of the Israelian singer/songwriter. His European tour carried him to sold out venues in a lot of different countries. A show on Rock Werchter was the highlight of this tour. Last year, Asaf Avidan presented his first full solo album called 'Different Pulses'. A record full of disarmingly beautiful songs, that give you goosebumps everytime with the interesting mix of folk, jazz, electronics and bluesrock.
