BARRELHOUSE 50 JAAR

In 50 years, more than 2000 concerts, always with the same formation.

What started with a jam session on a Sunday afternoon in Alkmaar and a first performance at Mahogany Hall in Edam in 1974, grew into a band with an enormous live reputation. Over the course of 50 years, Barrelhouse has recorded 12 albums and a DVD. In 2017, the album “Almost There” received an Edison award. In 2019, the compilation box set “45 Years on the Road” was released, also honored with an Edison.

For their 50th anniversary, the motto remains unchanged: enthusiasm and excitement as if it were their first performance. Always with the beautiful, powerful, and warm voice of Tineke, coupled with the effortless technical mastery of John and Guus, the fiercely pounding, propelling piano of Han, and the both powerful and stirring, as well as subtle rhythm of Bob and Jan Willem. So, no venue too small, no festival too big. And they will do it one more time in 2024, the final tour: on new stages and, of course, on the stages they loved.
