Heavily influenced by the 60’s- and 70’s legendary rock bands like The Doors, combined with the psychedelic sound of bands like Pink Floyd, Birth of Joy is a band with a serious passion of reviving the music of that time. With the charisma that makes you believe they are born to be rocking the stages, they have been conquering the stages in and outside of The Netherlands for years already. It’s time to let these guys show what they are worth in The Hague’s biggest pop venue.

The birth of Birth of Joy was at the Herman Brood Academie (music academy in Utrecht). In no time at all they were crossing musical borders, and not much later they were already crossing the border literally, where the need of bands with a sound like theirs was craved for. Sound-wise they are hugely driven by the bombastic drums in their songs, combined with a hyperactive version of Ray Manzarik on organ, and the enthralling voice of singer/guitarist Kevin. Their live performances turn out to be a giant heap of psychedelic tunes and sweat, as well as screaming guitar- and organ solo’s.

Belgium, France, Germany, England and even the Untied States have been sacrificed to Birth of Joy, and as of yet, have been unable to entangle themselves from the magic that Birth of Joy has used on them. The Netherlands is lagging a bit behind in the renown that has been accredited to Birth of Joy. It’s time for The Netherlands to acknowledge the talent that is walking around in the Dutch music industry.

“There’s a raw immediacy to this rock music that shouldn’t need justification. These aren’t songs that need to be worried about finding their place in the future of music—these are songs to get wasted and rock out to right now.” – Indie Rock Reviews
