The unique sound of Clan Of Xymox: electronic, melancholic, dreamy new wave, ensures that the band has been around for decades. In the 1980s the Dutch band was one of the most important representatives of dark wave. Since their debut in 1984: ‘Subsequent Pleasures’, the band has released no fewer than fourteen other albums, with which they achieved international success. Fast-forward to 2020, and at the end of February the Amsterdam dark wave pioneers will release brand new single ‘SHE‘, which will set the tone for the fifteenth album.

Ronny Moorings is the mastermind behind Clan Of Xymox and is the only one left of the original occupation, and has lived in Leipzig Germany for over 15 years. Since the band signed with record label 4AD (UK) in the early 80’s, the band has released many hit and cult albums, such as acclaimed records ‘Creatures‘ (1999), ‘Notes Of The Underground‘ (2001), ‘Farewell’ (2003 ) and ‘In Love We Trust‘ (2009).

Support: Palais Ideal

Palais Ideal is inspired by different bands from the 80’s. The duo that saw the light of day in 2016 cites Ultravox, The Sisters Of Mercy and New Order as the main examples. The group worked on the single ‘Context Collapse’ with John Fryer, the producer who worked with Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails. This isn’t the first time that Palais Ideal has played with Clan Of Xymox, so expect a lot of good.

“ De nummers van Clan of Xymox zijn onbeperkt houdbaar. Nooit geweten dat we zo'n internationaal new wave-icoon uit Nederland hebben. “
