DANNY VERA

Inspired by the American sound of the 50's and 60's, Danny bought his first guitar in New Orleans 16 years ago (a Gretsch Tennessean '67) that would help him approach the sound of his hero's. In 2009 Danny crossed the ocean once again, to record his fourth studio album in Nashville with local musicians. The result: a very non-Dutch and mature production, that not only represents Danny's musical ambitions and songwriting capabilities, but also shows he knows how to present his music well.Dutch soccer journalist and (American) music lover Johan Derksen discovered Danny's albums along the years, and got him ons his TV show 'Voetbal International' where the singer and his band are now responsible for all live music twice a week. Danny got the attention of a whole new audience because of the success of this (award-winning) show. By popular demand, a live concert was recorded in the TV studio, featuring Danny's repertoire and covers from past seasons. This DVD, 'Studio 6 Sessions Live' will be released november 2011.
