With its distinctive American sound and appearance, it seems like only a matter of time before Destine becomes an established name in Europe. Their debut album ‘Lightspeed’ was released in the Netherlands in February 2010 and was an instant success. The album and singles reached the charts, had lots of radio airplay and the band played the country’s most well known festivals Lowlands and Pinkpop.The single ‘Stars’ is on the playlist of all of Holland’s biggest radio stations for over 9 months. Radio station 538 also acknowledges the band’s potential by picking ‘Stars’ as radio smash hit of the week in September 2009. The band’s first two music videos, both recorded in San Francisco, are YouTube-smashers with both around half a million views; ‘ Stars’ has also been nominated for ‘Video of the Year’ at the Dutch MTV-channel. All this attention translates to the ticket sales for their first headlining tour in early 2010, with 12 sold out shows.
