Doe Maar will exist for 40 years this year and will do an extensive club tour, luckily they don’t skip Paard! The band started performing in smaller clubs, before they sold out big halls like Ahoy Rotterdam. For this tour they’ll go back where it all started. Henry Vrienten: ‘’It is an extraordinary privilege to be back after 40 years.’’
In their heydays, early 80s, Doe maar unleashed a fad which was comparable to The Beatles’ fad. They scored hit after hit like Doris Day, Is Dit Alles and De Bom. Nowadays, their songs are still In the Dutch hit charts (Top 2000). It seems like their success has never ended. ‘’When we started our Dutch band all excited in Neerkant back in the days, we had no idea what adventure we were in for. And now, 40 years and a life later, it seems like it’s true: nothing really changes when we sing a song like De Bom’’, thus Ernst Jansz.
