DOUWE BOB

Saturday 10 November 2018 2018

Oh yeaaah, Douwe Bob turns back to Paard for the fifth time. He became famous when he won Dutch talentshow ‘De Beste Singer-songwriter van Nederland’ in 2012 and is busy ever since. The 25-year old singer, musician and songwriter hits a new road after three applaud albums. The view and horizon have to be broadened. Douwe Bob is as a snake who changes his skin for a new one. Keywords of his new style: fresh, open, tougher, less rootsy, more danceable, firmer and with synthesizers. The Shape I’m In Tour is here.

No panic, the tattoos and praised band are here to stay. Where they brought eight strings with them in 2017, they bring an extra set of synthesizers this tour. Douwe Bob travels further and wants to let his new sound hear. He can’t wait. Slowly he loses the style he grew up with: Westcoast, sixties, country and hippy. The singer hungers to share his new sound and vision with his fans: ‘Performing is my lifeline, I need the interaction with the crowd. I also feel obligated to myself and to my fans to keep on developing. I’m right in the middle of that, and very excited for this tour. Lets celebrate together!’

Matthew Crosby
is an American singer-songwriter from Nashville, Tennessee. Born to a family of musicians, he began writing and playing his own songs at an early age. He eventually made his way to New York City, performing regularly at clubs around Brooklyn and the Lower East Side, and developing a sound centered in American country and folk music –blending the lyricism of Jackson Brown with the stripped-down experimentalism of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy. Since 2014, Matthew has been a member of multi-platinum selling country Americana band, The Common Linnets, touring across Europe and recording in both Holland and the US. His debut solo EP, “Take Only What You Can Carry In Your Hands” was released in April 2016. The follow-up release is set for November 2018.
