DUNN
The Hague based bass-player, Timothy Dunn, has found his own musical outlet with Dunn.
Starting out as a bass player in different bands he found he also had the urge to write his own music. This resulted in his first EP ‘Songs of a ponderous mind’ in 2011. Through the years he grew in experience and his sound evolved with him. On the 2018 release ‘Solastalgia’, Dunn sounds out a colourful mix of indie, rock and pop and puts a progressive spin on it. References to Queen, Tame Impala, The Beatles, Syd Barret will ring familiar when listening to the 4 songs on this sophomore EP. With a quirky and slightly theatrical delivery, his lyrics explore different aspects of what it means to be human being in the 21st century. Now Dunn is ready for another round. With a 5-some of eclectic songs the 2024 EP ‘Agency’ will take the listener on a colourful, musical journey with surprising twists and turns and will leave you curious for more. You’ll find yourself lost in a mezmerizing tapestry of odd grooves, lush synth-sounds and unexpected melodies and harmonies. Live, DUNN performs as a solo-act with drum-machine, his trusty bass and a looper. Around the EP-release mid 2024 DUNN will perform a limited tour with full band where he will be joined by dear friends and veterans of the dutch music scene.

Midas
A flying start, that’s how you can confidently describe Midas’s introduction to the Dutch music scene in 2017 with his debut album “Heavy Moon.” Everything the singer-songwriter touched seemed to turn to gold. Within a few months, he was performing at Pinkpop, Tuckerville, appearing on TV programs, and even supporting Eddie Vedder and Bob Dylan. It was a strange period, perhaps even more miraculous for Midas himself. After that initial introduction, it was truly time for reflection. “Too Much Too Soon,” as they say, can hit you hard, and that’s why Midas took a step back in 2018. Traveling through distant, warm, and sticky places around the world eventually brought him back to the Netherlands. In a small farmhouse somewhere in the middle of the country, he found the peace to work on the next chapter. He wrote his new songs here, and the farmhouse also provided the opportunity to house his studio. Together with producer Darius Timmer, Midas recorded 10 new songs in the place where they were born. The album “Magic Glasses” (2022) marks Midas’s dreamed return. Sometimes folky and melancholic but always pop, as pop music should be. The album received wonderful reviews. Jean-Paul Heck called it “an absolute masterpiece” in Soundz magazine. Meanwhile, Midas hasn’t been idle, once again entering the studio with Darius Timmer. This time, joined by fellow musicians Jasja Offermans (bass guitar) and Guy Pek (drums). Together, they will perform songs from the upcoming new album as well as material from “Heavy Moon” and “Magic Glasses,” accompanied on stage by keyboardist Reid Steenhuis. Expect a solid band with fiery guitars and shiny harmonies that wouldn’t be out of place in the 70s. Alternative pop with excursions into folk and rock.
