Artistic band
Fear of Men was established in 2010 as a concept of two creative artstudents Jessica Weiss (guitar and vocals) and Daniel Falvey (guitar). Since then, the duo grew to a fourpiece and art still plays an essential role: not just the music, all the artwork and video’s are also created by the band themselves.
How could something so floaty be so dour? How could a voice so ethereally gorgeous express such existential sentiments? –
says Consequence of Sound
Between dark and light.
The songs of Fear of Men float in a twilight zone between happiness and sadness, between joy and grief, between dark and light. With a sound that makes us think of The Smiths, but also of Curve and Lush, Fear of Men will travel across the North Sea in October to enchant The Hague.
The Brahms
This young band plays music with catchy hooks combined with traditional African grooves and a straight-to-the-point-approach. Danceable indiepop. This year they’ve made it to the semi-finals of the Grote Prijs, which will take place right here, in Paard van Troje.
