At First
Some bands are reaching for boundaries. At First is such a band who shows the broad influences of alternative rock and metal. Influences varying from Rage Against the Machine to Parkway Drive and Halestorm to System of a Down. That, in combination with song texts about future doom images of an apocalyptic world, lets you mirage in a scene of a science fiction film. Expect an energetic live performance with pounding, groovy pieces, cutting guitars and epic vocal lines.
Beyond God
Beyond God knows how to create a special atmosphere. The band is compared with big names like Evanescence, Within Temptation, Nightwish and Epica. Yet they have their own style. Beyond God alternates heavy metal with classical and symphonic parties. Heavy guitars, bass, and drums are combined with quiet keyboard parts, all perfectly complimented by the vocals of frontwoman Meryl Foreman. The one moment you are in the dark, the other moment you feel like you’re in a bright and shiny world. They performed in Paard before as the support of Kingfisher Sky, and were very promising.
Phantom Elite
You can describe Phantom Elite as a fresh and powerful breeze. The band was formed two years ago when Sander Gomman released his second album ‘Serenades of the Netherworld’. Gomman brought a bunch of young musicians together so that they could play his material live on stage for the first time, but the chemistry between the band members was so strong, you could see sparks. This wasn’t supposed to be the end. They were so inspired by each other that it did not took long until their debut album was there, a pleasant prog-metal record. You really need to hear this.
