GARE DU NORD

Thursday 9 October 2014 2014

This october, Gare du Nord's club tour 'Undressed' will start, in which the band (in strongly reformed formation) will come with new material for the first time in three years. More spontaneous and adventurousGare du Nord once started as a studio concept. "For a long time, we wanted to reproduce the sounds of the studio and albums as perfect as possible in a live setting. This resulted in barely having any room for spontaneity and improvisation in the heat of the moment. With this new band, we exchange the comfort zone of the studio for the limitless adventure of the live experience. The reformed group is on its best on stage, not in the studio", says Gare du Nord.

Undressed
The new, two-hour live show features the exclusive premiere of the new songs that were written in the past few months. With this club tour, Gare du Nord kicks off a new multimedial project that will exist of a book, a film, three EP’s and an album, next to this new live experience.  During this extended show, the band will not only play new songs, but also classics like ‘Marvin & Miles’, ‘We Still Grow’, ‘Pablo’s Blues’ and ‘You’re My Medicine'(with Marvin Gaye) will be performed. The hits of success albums Sex ‘n’ Jazz and Kind Of Cool sound more funky and adventurous than ever in the reformed formation.

Formation:
Gare du Nord will perform in a newly formed formation. Familliar faces Dorona Alberti (vocals) and Aron Raams (guitar) are joined by Frank Montis (hammond B3/vocals), Floris van der Vlugt (alt sax), Guido Nijs (tenor sax), Marc Schenk (drums) and Guus Bakker (bass). An energetic, groovy live band that only exists of musicians at the top of the Dutch jazz scene of today.
