DJ Grandmaster Flash grew up in the Bronx and is considered one of the “founding fathers” of hip-hop, as Grandmaster Flash is the inventor of vinyl scratching and many other DJ techniques that are still relevant today. Although Flash has been around for quite a few years, he shows no sign of slowing down. Nowadays he is an associate producer and consultant for a Netflix series and can still be found behind the turntables, for example on the 17th of October in the Main Hall.

DJ Rockid, the turntable virtuoso from South Korea, began DJing at the age of 16. He quickly became fascinated by “scratching” and represented the Netherlands at the DMC World Championships. In addition, he has released a lot of electronic music, toured with artists like Rudeboy Remington and Zuco 103, and rocked clubs and festivals. Besides his love for hip-hop, DJ Rockid is also a house music enthusiast and is rediscovering his electronic side.
