Support: David BenjaminThe Handsome Poets are coming to Paard van Troje! After a successful 2012 and a busy 2013 the band members Tim van Esch (vocals), Nils Davidse (keyboard) and Daniël Smit (drums) are ready to rock The Hague with their groovy dancy artpop songs! The beginning of success‘Let's start a fire, new kids coming into town’ became the slogan for Dutch IndiePop band Handsome Poets. Sky On Fire, title track from their second eponymous album was the Dutch anthem for the Olympic games in London, became a number 1 hit in the Netherlands and became most played single on radio station 3FM (equivalent to BBC Radio 1). This also earned them a nomination for Best Band at that same radio station. Before Sky On Fire, Handsome Poets became a well-known band in the Netherlands and won 3FM’s Serious Talent Award shortly after ‘Dance (the war is over)’ was released. After that, their songs like ‘Blinded’, ‘(We can’t be) Saints’ and ‘Call Back Tomorrow’ got picked up by the biggest commercial stations as well.In only three years they played at almost every festival in the country, such as Lowlands and Eurosonic/Noorderslag, highlighted with a main stage performance at Pinkpop 2013. The band developed a strong live reputation with a frontman who conducts the audience, a drummer that makes them dance and a synth player who shows them true art. So prepare yourself for tonight to go crazy on the megahits of Handsome Poets!
