ILL CONSIDERED

Thursday 28 November 2024 2024

Ill Considered formed in 2017 after Emre Ramazanoglu and Idris Rahman played together during a number of sessions. They were motivated to try a new, fully improvised project with drums, bass, saxophone (and occasional percussion). The first jam they recorded was mixed and mastered by Emre within 24 hours and became the band’s first album. As always, the band continues to push the boundaries of the genre while staying true to their improvisational roots, locked in a telepathic groove. This uptempo jazz band with a punk attitude will be at PAARD on 28 November!

Maverick instrumentalists Ill Considered have released Precipice, their second studio album with New Soil. Precipice is a raw and stripped-down expression of high-level collective improvisation, with the group returning to trio form after the expansive sonics of Liminal Space. The album recalls the dizzying intensity of 1970s jazz in a contemporary context. Ill Considered returns to basics and confirms their place as one of the most virtuosic groups on the UK scene.
