Since 2015, pianist Joep Beving has made a significant impact with his minimalist and introspective compositions, or as he describes it, “accessible music for complex emotions.” Beving’s music fits within the neoclassical piano movement, which also includes artists like Ólafur Arnalds and Nils Frahm. However, Beving brings a unique intimacy to his work, making him a true sensation in contemporary classical music.
Joep Beving on the concert: “COVID-19 stifled the live experience of my album Henosis. It’s fantastic to finally bring some pieces from that album back to the stage, especially in an arrangement for orchestra. Moreover, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to present new music that I’ve never had the chance to share solo. We’re still fine-tuning the program, but I hope to present a few premieres as well. I am deeply grateful to the Residentie Orkest for their trust and for this incredible opportunity!”
