JUANA AGUIRRE

Wednesday 21 May 2025

Juana Aguirre is an Argentine artist, singer-songwriter, composer and producer, whose music is a mix of experimental, folk, indie and Latin American folklore. As founder and lead singer of the band Churupaca, she has toured Latin America since 2009. After a nomadic life in New Zealand and Bolivia, among other places, she settled in Patagonia in 2020 to start her solo career. This led to her album Claroscuro (2021), in which she combined her connection to Rio de la Plata folk music with modern and experimental production techniques.

This is a free show and takes place in Paardcafé. You only need to register by claiming a ticket. Please note: your reservation does not guarantee a place. Full = full, so come early.

With Claroscuro, Juana opened a new artistic path in which music, graphic and visual art come together. Between 2022 and 2024 she performed at major festivals and venues in Argentina, Europe and South America, with sold-out shows in Mexico, Chile and Berlin, among others. She shared the stage with well-known artists such as BadBadNotGood and Alice Phoebe Lou. Her latest single lo_divino gives a taste of her second album, which released in late 2024 and will strengthen her reputation as an innovative and promising artist in the South American music scene.
