Karate, formed in 1993 in Boston, released six studio albums and evolved from punk to jazz-rock and slowcore. Eamonn Vitt left in 1997, and the band disbanded in 2005 due to Geoff Farina’s hearing issues. In 2020, Numero Group helped the band retrieve their master tapes, leading to a re-release of their music and a reunion in 2022. In 2024, Karate recorded Make It Fit, their first album in 20 years, overcoming challenges of remote collaboration and studio issues. The album reflects the band’s growth, blending deep skill and adult experiences with joy and powerful performances.
