Kensington is a four piece formation in a traditional line-up. However, this does not mean that the outcome is dull: they’ll definitely convince you with their fresh and layered modern sound.
Breakthrough
Debut album ‘Borders’ brings the band a successful tour along concert halls, media and festivals. Their singles get airplay on 3FM, sold-out venues are not a rarity and the band travels through Indonesia, The U.S.A., France, Belgium and Serbia. Follow-up ‘Vultures’ brings a more mature sound and its succes tops that of its predecessor. Not long after, the band releases ‘Home Again’, which is a direct hit. If you don’t know this song, you’ve probably been living under a rock.
Last year, Kensington won a MTV Award (Best Dutch Act) as well as three 3FM Awards (Serious Talent, Best Album, Best Live Act). To say that the band from Utrecht has had a breaktrough in 2013 is therefore an understatement.
International success
With once again a 3FM Award (Best Rock) in their pockets, 2014 kicks off well for Kensington. After a sold-out tour in The Netherlands in 2013, the band went on their first (mostly sold-out) European club tour this year. They will return ‘home again’ this winter for another Dutch tour. Expect old hits, new hits and a pure rock ‘n roll show with international appeal!
