The Belgian Iskander Moens underwent classical piano training while simultaneously developing his alter ego, “Iskander Moon.” Enamored with being engulfed by a large anonymous city, he spent extended periods in places such as New York, Berlin, Boston, and Florence. In each location, Iskander immersed himself in the local music scene, performing in numerous singer-songwriter cafes where he impressed audiences with his warm tenor voice. Additionally, he casually wrote a plethora of sparkling folk-pop songs. As Iskander Moon, he aims to deliver simple, sincere pop songs with compelling lyrics, sung from behind his ivory keys.

The duo Kids With Buns has been on a remarkable musical journey over the past four years. They began as a collaboration during the 2019 Sound Track preliminaries. After this, Marie Van Uytvanck and Amber Piddington decided to join together to form Kids With buns. Soon they became fans of the melancholic bedroom pop. The band grew into their indie sound, drawing inspiration from artists such as Nick Drake, Ben Howard and Girl in Red. Last October they released their debut album, ”Out of Place, which discusses themes such as the transience of heartbreak, coming of age in a sometimes homophobic world and feeling “different. With these strong themes in a powerful musical form, Kids With Buns will be at PAARD on March 17!
