LILIAN VIEIRA’S SAMBA SOUL

Saturday 8 February 2014 2014

Support: Fantine ThoThe Brazilian-Dutch singer-songwriter Lilian Vieira stands out with her unique form of Brazilian samba soul. At age 23 she moved to The Netherlands, where she started to work her way to the top as a singer. Achieving this did not take long, due to her special timbre, great improvisation skills and charismatic stage presence. Her road to success started with her role in the Brazilectro group Zuco 103. Vieira – primarily singing in Portuguese – also works with multiple jazz-, soul- and funkbands and various DJs. Moreover, she collaborated with other musicians on dozens of albums as a guest singer. The past years she has returned to her musical roots, aiming her repertoire at popular Brazilian music and classical acoustic Samba. Towards the end of 2013, her first solo album will be released. Every experience that she has had during her musical journey will be noticeable on this album: from the influences of her Dutch theatre tour, to her work with Zuco 103. Even the influences she has picked up in her past, while she was still living in Brazil, will be vividly present on this album. Her own band, consisting of five skilled musicians, will be assisting her during the tour.

“On international festivals and popstages Zuco 103 wins the harts with clever dancegrooves and the infectious stage presence of singer Lilian Vieira”
– Koen Schouten, De Volkskrant

We’re very excited to find out how her solo performance together with her new band will turn out. We’re confident it will be even better than her previous work.

Fantine Tho is the support act of the evening. Her breaktrough in Holland was caused by her participation in the talentshow ‘The Voice Of Holland’, but in her homecounty Brazil she became well-known while she competed in Popstars. She ended up in the group ‘Rouge’ and worked with Ricky Martin and Shakira.
