During her youth Salsa and Son were part of her musical upbringing a factor that made her pick up the trumpet. Later the trumpet became her focus in life as she studied Latin and Jazz at the Music Academy of Rotterdam.
Nowadays this beautiful blond lady lives in Colombia, but she is not bound to South-America as she also toured in South-Korea, America and even Israel. Her sound is easily recognized by the many influences it combines. For instance Columbian Folk, Salsa and Latin-Jazz are part of her unique sound. She refers to it as ‘the new sound of old school salsa’. Over the last few years she has worked with Ruben Blades, Yuri Buenaventure, Issac Delgado, Grupo Galé and Oscar D’Leon. Hontelé and D’Leon mesmerized Paard van Troje last November and we were very impressed with them. To feed our cravings once again we asked her to return to us and she will with her new album ‘Déjame Así’.
Make sure you’re free on the 1st of July so you can join us and celebrate summer!
