Like many musicians, Mercy John gets a lot of inspiration from the place where he grew up in. The Dutch countryside made him to be the artist which he is now. ‘I grew up playing in the woods and fields nearby my house. I was brought up quite protected, far away from the outside world‘. That seems to be a good base for Mercy John’s beautiful songs that sound a bit like Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen.
Kerri Powers is the ultimate one woman Americana artist who perfectly mixes blues, folk and other roots. Her last album ‘Starseeds‘ is really convincing because Powers has a raw bluesvoice that effortlessly switches between folk, country and blues. Her show in PAARD is guided by master guitarist BJ Baartmans and basist Gerco Aerts.
