MUD MORGANFIELD

Friday 18 April 2014 2014

It's not easy to live up to the expectations when you're the son of blueslegend Muddy Waters. For Mud Morganfield, however, this does not seem to be an issue. Nothing can hold him back from showing the world that he will not be put in the shadow of his old man. Although Larry 'Mud' Morganfield already started at an early age when his father provided him with a selection of instruments, his carreer only became a serious business once he turned thirty, shortly after his father passed away.Nowadays, the 'Mud Virus' is being spread all over the world. Endowed with the same baritone voice as his father, he plays his exciting, grooving Chicago blues. Moreover, he is surrounded by a band consisting of musicians that are as talented as they are experienced. With their help, he carries his musical message to the audience, mixed with a selection of songs that were written by his father. The Muddy Waters-vibe is completed by the presence of Rick Kreher, ex-rhythm guitarist of Muddy Waters himself. He tells us that Mud Morganfield is sublime in the way he interpets his fathers' works. "It's like watching a ghost in the flesh!"Mud Morganfield is crossing the ocean upcoming spring to bring the repertoire of his second album, 'Son of a Seventh Son' (2012) to our ears. And, if we're lucky enough, he will also bring a musical ode to his legendary father.
