What is GR8?

On November 8 we will open our new location at Prinsegracht 8; GR8. GR8 is a cultural gathering building of about 1200 m² in the middle of the pop district of The Hague. As part of PAARD we use the theater hall here for concerts, debates, spoken word and much more in an intimate setting. Besides the theater hall, Prinsegracht 8 consists of office spaces, a record store, a poetry store, meeting and drinks rooms. The latter two are available for rent through PAARD.nl/rental.

Last summer we renovated the building and on Friday, November 8, we will officially open GR8. Come by to check out the theater and spaces (while enjoying good music and a drink!). Claim your free ticket now through the link on the right to be the first to see the venue!

Aanstormend Haags talent Y.O.P.E. en Fuzzy Teeth treden op in het intieme theaterzaaltje. Y.O.P.E is het muzikale expiriment van Joop de Graaf, ook bekend van zijn werk als bassist bij Brintex Collective. In dit project verkent de band door middel van improvisatie en dansbare beats tot de uithoeken van elektronische muziek. Fuzzy Teeth is een indiepop collectief wat van fluisterend zacht en kwetsbaar naar rauw en recht in je gezicht gaat. Krachtige gitaren vergezeld door elektronische grooves en akoestische gitaar. Mulatu Listening Bar selecteerde de dj’s voor de muzikale omlijsting van de avond.

FUZZY TEETH

FUZZY TEETH bestaat uit en alternatieve pop songs, gecontroleerde chaos, harde riffs gespeeld met een aangename nonchalance. Anthony (de man achter Fuzzy Teeth) was al op jonge leeftijd actief als muzikant. Al op 15-jarige leeftijd toerde hij met de energieke punkrockbands Forever Saturday en Peach langs de Nederlandse podia.

Nu neemt Anthony zijn eigen werk op en gaat solo. De muziekstijl is volledig veranderd en wordt het best omschreven als een mix van indiepop, lo-fi R&B en elektronische muziek. Bij live-optredens wordt Anthony ondersteund door een groovy band met zijn vrienden en tevens geweldige muzikanten.

Y.O.P.E.

Y.O.P.E. is the musical experiment of bassist Joop de Graaf. Joop is also known for his work with Brintex Collective, Imaginarium, Diana Dzhabbar Quartet and Dandana, among others. Inspired by extremes of taste, Joop decided to start his own project together with drummer Luis Possollo. In 2022, he recorded his first EP called “Lost but Here” and was released on the Label Wicked Wax. “The vision of the project is to make danceable beat-music where the line blurs between club and live band. It’s a mix of danceable electronic music where the improvisational elements lie more with the bass guitar and drums instead of the usual solo instruments.”
