Joy Division Undercover is a tribute to Ian Curtis and his band Joy Division. In a sublime way the band interprets a selection from the repertoire of the British post-punk legends, which is also the case on October 27 in PAARD. With singer Erny Green (The Eternal) – who equals the voice of Ian Curtis “uncanny” – and guitarist Henk Koorn (Hello Venray), you can expect nothing less. A beautiful tribute to a very special band.

Joy Division was born 45 years ago. Unfortunately, the short and eventful life of Ian Curtis came to an early end. We are talking about 1980: the time of economic crises, black clothes, the Cold War and New Wave music. The most notable band in this period is Joy Division, a British post-punk formation that had a lot of influence on later gothic and New Wave bands. But the band’s influences didn’t stop there; a lot of bands today – such as Editors, Interpol and White Lies – are also inspired by the unique sound of this British band.

PAARD celebrates it’s 50th birthday in 2022 and we will honor that with a spectacular party week in October: PAARD50. From October 21, till October 30 – during PAARD50 – we will celebrate PAARD of the past, PAARD of the future and especially PAARD NOW.
