PAARD VAN STAL FESTIVAL WITH LUCAS HAMMING, A.J CROCE, THE SORE LOSERS, MITCH RIVERS and others

Saturday 3 September 2016 2016

On Saturday 3 September, the new Paard season kicks off with a free festival. We will be officially opening our doors with performances by The Sore Losers, Mitch Rivers, A.J. Croce and Eriksson Delcroix in both halls, the foyer and Paardcafe.Meet The Sore Losers, the true children of rock music. This rock band from Belgium decided to combine their love for rock, country to a distinctive, raw rock sound. Since their debut in 2009, they have been playing the main stages of festivals such as Pukkelpop, Rock Werchter en Pinkpop. A.J. Croce is not only the son of legendary songwriters Ingrid & Jim Croce, he is also an explorer of borders in the wide genre of roots music. We have seen him perform on the Paard stage before and were charmed, to say the least. Time to invite him back in The Hague. Mitch Rivers has its feet deep in the soil of the Southern states of America. His music is like bourbon for the restless soul, inspired by singer-songwriters such as Townes van Zandt and Dylan LeBlanc. A diamond in the rough, this guy who resides in Rotterdam, but wanders the world with his guitar. He recently toured with Luke Winslow-King and released his first EP not long before. The Belgian country and bluegrass duo Eriksson Delcroix consists of the couple Bjorn Eriksson and his Nathalie Delcroix. After their well received second album 'Heart Out Of Its Mind'(Waste Records, V2), they've been enchanting wide audiences with their charming songs.

Feels
Springing from the hyper fertile musical landscape of Eastside Los Angeles in 2014, FEELS is a frenetic foursome of best friends brought together through a combination of divine inspiration and happy accidents. From their compellingly eclectic musical bag of tricks emerges a delirious cocktail of punk, pop, psych, and garage rock, but don’t try to paint them into any of those corners- their sound is entirely their own. Veering wildly between ethereal, soaring guitar heroism to fuzzed out raw mayhem, all held together by the rock steady rhythm section of Amy Allen and Michael Rudes, and stunningly presided over by the transcendent vocal pairing of Laena Geronimo and Shannon Lay, FEELS defy expectations and refuse to be contained.
