Paardcafé: Bona Fide Mistakes

Friday 16 February 2024 2024

Bona Fide Mistakes refer to mistakes or misunderstandings made in good faith, without fraudulent intent or negligence. Bona Fide Mistakes is also a band with loud rattling folk tunes and have recorded some of them live on cassette in a first EP called Balderdash (Available in Horse Cafe on vinyl). Normally three people strong, the band is bringing in several guest musicians this evening, sporadically growing themselves exponentially. Limited edition vinyl, musicians galore: Feb. 16 at Paardcafé

You probably don’t know the name Sam Vano yet. That’s understandable, since he’s only just come around the corner. As Sam van Ommen you might know him, formerly with Sam & Julia, now as guitarist with Tim Knol. But this year saw the release of his first work as a solo artist, the EP solitaire, in which we hear for the first time the most honest and unfiltered version of Sam. And this version seems to be catching on; after a sold-out release show, he played a number of shows in England as support act for Victoria Canal, recorded a session with The Influences and he is already hard at work on the next record, which will be released in the fall of 2024.
