Paardcafé: Hofstad Hip Hop

Het Haagse Hip Hop Centrum is a place where talents meet, develop and work towards performances and events. The Hague has a lot of talent in the field of hip hop and we are happy to show it during “Hofstad Hiphop”. This time we have some international input, namely Curacao, Turkey and the UK! Meet gruesome MCs, dope DJs and grab the mic yourself during the open mic…it’s all there!

This edition with the following artists:

MC Nelson (UK) is a rapper and producer from Liverpool and the founder of Black Borough records. A veteran rapper for 20 years despite being under 30. Nelson has toured in Britain, France, Holland and Finland and has played at a number of festivals in Europe. Over the years, he has performed as a support act for hip-hop royalty such as Ghostface Killah. The Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief, Slum Village, Pharaoh Monche, Nightmares on Wax, Rah Digga, Sa Roc, Children of Zeus, Soweto Kinch, Bishop Nehru, Loyle Carner and many more. Nelson’s debut mixtape Anglosfear received attention from Noisey, the Guardian and BBC Radio 1. He has reached over 500,000 streams with the 2 teaser singles for his upcoming debut album “DARK CITY” due out in spring 2024.

Joe Last is an MC who regularly appeared at open mics in The Hague. He himself also has material and a goal, the goal is to become king of hip hop and that by collaborating with anyone who wants it.

Denko, The Curacao MC has been representing The Hague for a while but the island he comes from is deep in his heart. His lyrics are therefore in Papiamento and his beats ensure that his tracks are hard hip-hop bangers.

DJ Sensei the from Turkey and for some time hip hop DJ, scratcher and DJ at breaking battles. DJ Sensei provides a good warm up prior to the acts and will provide the beats during the open mic.

Host: D.Chesron Anyone from The Hague must know this versatile MC. He raps, produces, teaches, sings and is also a host. If we are talking about the host with the most, then D.Chesron is the man!
