Paardcafé: JUN

JUN grew up in southern Spain, where he was not exposed to flamenco and folk music as expected, but rather to music from the 1970s through his father’s record collection.

Since childhood, he has been fascinated by psychedelics and soundscapes. As a musician, he strives to experiment and break the boundaries of guitar sound and the structure and tempo of mainstream music.

JUN released his first album “Octogirl” in September 2019 and has since performed at various venues and festivals in the Netherlands. His latest album “From the Lights Within,” released in October 2023, evolves from his previous work by blending strange meters and ambient passages from experimental rock with catchy melodies and electronic beats from synthpop. This album also marks the transition from instrumental music to songs.
