ONIKI ADIM – is Ferit Bilgin, Gökhan Ceylan and Deniz Şükür. The band blends ambient guitar swells and atmospheric synths into one melancholic whole. The songs are based on life between cultures, and personal experiences of band members: the isolated life in the slum, meets the vibrant life of the inner city. This manifests itself in a musical struggle between cultures, tradition, individuality and the search for self-development. The sometimes ambiguous lifestyle of the band members leads to a peculiar mix of inspiration from post-rock to Turkish folk. The band name is a Turkish translation of the term “twelve-step plan,” a program intended for reducing mental problems and addictions.
