Simpleton is the solo project of songwriter Chris Berendsen. Combining the sounds of bands like The Strokes, The Wombats and MGMT, Simpleton creates songs characterized by catchy hooks, static beats and coming-of-age lyrics. Expect a mix between uplifting indie rock and danceable synthpop.

On Saturday, November 23, Popronde will once again descend in The Hague!
The Popronde is a traveling festival that takes place every autumn from mid-September until the end of November in about 40 cities in the Netherlands. In each city between 25 and 75 bands and artists perform in pop venues, cafes, bars, galleries, churches and other locations.
The following artists will shine on the Paardcafé stage:
Zo Lief is a psychedelic dream pop duo with roots in Holland and England. Imaginative production, playful lyrics and poetic storytelling flow together to create a kaleidoscopic sound that evokes eccentric nostalgia. Their progressive sound with retro flair combines indie, psychedelia, garage rock, 60s film music and ethereal chamber pop.
Zeevlinder is moody, in love, focused and I give a fuck – about everything. Here to be enticed by life. In the world of the pop round, one name shines: Sea Butterfly. With a full band, she brings enchanting harmonies that resonate like waves on the ocean, while also turning any venue into a dance floor with plug-and-play beats.
Parker Fans is an Amsterdam-based indie boogie three-man bromance made for later slots in the stickier clubs. Frontman Kick Kluiving lays out his deceptively complicated urban mini-tragedies (and comedies) over a deceptively simple foundation of drum samples, bass guitar and synthesizer. Did we mention you can dance to it? In fact, it’s very easy!
BUG‘s live sets are bursting with energy, with performers crawling all over each other and a mosh pit in the room. With their own sound somewhere between hip-hop, punk and ravey sounds, there is no escape at BUG: you have to dance. It promises to be raw, energetic chaos.
