On 13 June, Pitou, LUWTEN and Naaz will perform together in a special 360° line-up at PAARD. Three of the most outspoken and quirky voices on the Dutch music scene join forces for a unique evening. Pitou brings together her classical background with instinctive and emotionally charged songs. LUWTEN, Tessa Douwstra’s project, weaves minimal music, R&B and indie folk into an intimate and layered musical universe. And finally, Naaz, the independent Kurdish-Dutch artist, whose music mixes English and Kurdish with a keen eye on themes of identity, freedom and diaspora. Her multidisciplinary approach has earned her awards in both music and film circles.

Amsterdam-born artist Pitou released her debut album Big Tear last year, weaving her history as a member of the Nationaal Kinderkoor with her own instinctive and emotional songs. She is known for her intense live performances and was named one of the breakthrough talents of 2023. Her record appeared in several national newspapers in the ‘best of 2023’ lists.

Under the name LUWTEN, Tessa Douwstra writes and plays her music with an eye for detail, inspired by her personal trinity of minimal music, R&B and indie folk. She has released two widely acclaimed albums, with which she subsequently toured across Europe, and is currently working on her third: the follow-up to the 3voor12 Dutch Album of the Year winning Draft.

Naaz is an independent Kurdish artist, born and raised in the Netherlands in an immigrant family. Her ability to weave different art forms into her creations reflects how she also blends her cultures into everyday life. She toured Europe four times with her authentic mix of English and Kurdish alternative music, which deals deeply with what freedom means to people in diaspora who were not born into it. Her music and visuals have received rave reviews, with numerous awards ranging from the Dutch Grammys to film festival awards for her visual work.

Architect Rem Koolhaas designed a modular concert hall for the Grolsch Zaal, in which the balconies are retractable. This allows the stage to be placed in the middle of the hall, creating a unique setting: an arena in which performers are the centrepiece, surrounded by the balconies. This makes for an intimate, unique and exciting experience. During these concerts and club nights, the audience stands 360° around the stage, offering a totally new experience of our iconic venue. PAARD360 is the Grolsch Zaal’s best-kept secret.
