Pride The Hague is bigger than ever this year! With a gigantic Pride Walk through the city and various parties, protests and other activities, on Saturday night it is time for the official afterparty. DJ, writer, house veteran and queer icon Joost van Bellen will let all corners of his music taste be heard. Vera Siemons and Liza van den Brink bring the ultimate queer party ICONIC to The Hague. Our friends from Kaleidoscoop host a special programme in the foyer. In short: all your favourite queer nights in one!
ICONIC makes a Hague debut after selling out Tivoli and Paradiso time and again. The formula is still the same: a club night where queer pop stars are put on hands! Deejays Vera Siemons and Liza van den Brink select the indispensable tracks and new hits in the making by queer pop icons such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, Troye Sivan, charli xcx, boygenius, Lil Nas X, Kim Petras, Sam Smith, Remi Wolf, girl in red and many more artists not to be missed. We have only one fitting word for it: ICONIC!
Joost van Bellen has an impressive 35-year career pushing boundaries, entertaining people and making a mark on nightlife and dance culture. Starting in the 1980s, he built the Dutch nightlife scene with psychedelic punk nights and Club RoXY, later followed by UK garage with Speedfreax and electro with RAUW. Besides DJ and music director for major fashion and theatre shows, he is also a writer; his novel Pandaogen received rave reviews and a second book, NACHTDIER, was published in 2021. A pioneer of Amsterdam’s night culture, he was awarded several prizes, including a place in the Gallery of Honour of Dutch Pop Music. The self-proclaimed disco dinosaur delivered purely top sets at festivals such as Lowlands, Milkshake, Pukkelpop, Down the Rabbit Hole, Pinkpop, Solar, Best Kept Secret, Welcome to the Village and Into the Great Wide Open, among others.
Of course, our friends from Kaleidoscoop cannot be left out of Pride. They will provide fabulous hosting in our foyer. Bring your cutest queer friends for an evening of creativity, connection and, above all, lots of fun! Expect surprising acts, games, a flirtation corner and a dance floor filled with music by DJs from the heart of the queer scene.
