SIMIAN MOBILE DISCO (UK)
This electronic music duo and production team from London is formed in 2005 by James Ford and Jas Shaw of the band Simian. The duo is famous for their heady, rabble rousing singles. they produce electro and house in a very experimental way. In September they released their 4th studio album: Whorl. The product of a set of live performances reconstructed in the studio. Simian Mobile Disco will play a special DJ set for rewire tonight!

LEE GAMBLE  live (UK)
His work is based on questions and reappraisals. In a recent interview with The Wire Magazine, Gamble proclaimed: “I like to work things out (…) break stuff, fuck about with stuff, open it up, see what’s in there for me.” No one to sit still, Gamble relentlessly questions the world around him, trying to create new soundtracks for his curiosity. Originally in love with techno and jungle, Gamble began to embrace music and ideas created through developing technologies, such as those created by Photek, the Mego label, and composer John Wall, Currently Gamble looks to create music on a ‘molecular level’; and the results are already here. Lee Gamble was listed in August 2014 by Rolling Stone magazine as “one of the 10 New Artists you need to know”. The visuals for Lee Gamble’s show at Rewire will be provided by Dave Gaskarth, who has lots of experience with visuals.

GARDLAND (AU)
Gardland has been described as a “cracked energy exchange” between Alex Murray and Mark Smith. The ideas for their recent LP, Syndrome Syndrome, came about after a (doubtless bruising) ten day ‘“psychedelic desert excursion”; far from their homes in Sydney, Australia. Although Garland state they are “happy to co-exist with disorder”, the duo’s music doesn’t always seem driven by a love for chaos. Rather, Gardland use the rapid stabs, blurts and squiggles to form strong melodic passages; in a wider – and colourful – electronic attack.

DRVG CVLTVRE (NL)

Eindhoven’s Albert van Abbe sees himself as one of the underdogs of the electronic music scene; often exploiting his relatively low profile to further map out, and periodically reboot his vision. His music often plays up to his ‘outsider’ ethos; and can best be described as visceral, often headstrong dance music, tempered by a richness of texture and a melancholic tone. Van Abbe start his own label, No Comment, in 2010. No Comment releases collaborations with artists like Convextion, Sleeparchive and Gerald Donald.

DAUWD LIVE (UK)
His music is lush and multi-layered, and full of hidden complexities, unexpected gestures, and sonic sleights of hand. The artist’s credo is disarmingly simple: “make a noise, make it my noise, then give it to the rhyth.”. To do this Dauwd exploits a raft of sequencing techniques to build up washes of sound informed by percussive textures and rhythmic counterpoints. This all creates a rich and meditative inner vision that also translates to the dance floor. Dauwd’s next release on Kompakt Recrods, Saleh, is out on the 20th of October.

KORELESS LIVE (UK)
he makes Empathic, intelligent electronic music that is versatile enough to transcend any number of genre boundaries. His work has been used in soundtracks (including a forthcoming silent film from Sofia Mattioli; working alongside Jamie xx, Four Tet and John Talabot and, more surprisingly interpreted by a string quintet. Resident Advisor says of Koreless: “Despite his age his music exudes maturity, nesting in the ever-expanding dub-step lexicon somewhere between softened 2-step and soulful electronica.”

VESSEL LIVE (UK)
Vessel is the pseudonym of the 24 year old Bristolian producer: Sebastian Gainsborough. Given the swasbuckling approach on early releases such as Nylon Sunset, Vessel has seemingly viewed Bristol’s rich heritage in dance music as both an inspiration and a challenge. Techno and house act as basic frameworks that are then manipulated to create an enervating mix of off-beat, often utterly alien passages of music; a sound that (according to Vessel himself) “sounds as if it’s rhythmically out of control when in fact it’s all tightly controlled chaos”. Vessel’s 2012 debut Order Of noise was widely seen as something different altogether, and garnered praise from the likes of Resident Advisor and Mute’s Daniel Miller.
