Ask any visitor that was lucky enough to witness his shows at Lowlands and Incubate earlier this year what their favourite performance of the festival was and ten to one they will choose the uplifting and indeed very rowdy music of Souleyman. Meanwhile he has already found an admirer and collaborator in Björk.

High Places (US)
The band High Places from Brooklyn, New York is is a duo comprised of multi-instrumentalist Rob Barber and vocalist Mary Pearson. They use a wide variety of instruments including 12 string guitar, banjo, shakers and rattles, bass, bells and Kalimba, as well as plastic bags, mixing bowls, wood blocks and other common household objects to create bass-heavy yet crispy beats with lilting vocal melodies. Their albums are released on Thrill Jockey.
