The Belgian artist Stef Kamil Carlens has grown over the years to a favourite of many music lovers. The musician, who was one of the founding members of the legendary band dEUS, is somebody who is always looking for ways in which his music can be made more edgy. After his debut Stuck In The Status Qou was received with high scores by the press, Carlens started recording his second record in his Rabbit Field Studio in Hoboken. The result; Making Sense Of ∞ (Making Sense Of Infinity) is an album on which Carlens worked for two years. Something that can be heard. A record with detail in the texture of instruments. Analogue synths, organs and classical drummachines. This evening Steff Kamil Carlens will play at PAARD.

Making Sense Of ∞ is just the second soloalbum the Belgian artist has made. After his time with dEUS, Carlens, who is a visual artist as well, became the frontman of Zita Swoon. An interdisciplinary collective from Antwerp. At Zita Swoon, Stef Kamil worked together with the likes of Tom Pintens (known for Het Zesde Metaal) and made songs with Raymond van het Groenewoud. On the last record made by Carlens under his own name, you can hear a liveband as well. The same band that tours with the artist and consists of Alma Auer (harp and vocals), Nel Ponsaers (vocals and keys), Nicolas Rombouts (double bass) and Maarten Moesen (drums, keys and bass).
