A busy bee for 4 years in the Dutch singer-songwriter scene, she’s now taking it a step further and is on the verge of releasing her debut album. When you listen closely to the songs, you can hear her happy go-lucky attitude, faced with melancholy and reflection. A lifetime of absorbing music gives a broad range to her material, honing in on classics like Neil Young & Fleetwood Mac and even the early Madonna records. The new album has a sound that lies somewhere between roots and indiepop, exhibiting influences from bands like Dirty Projectors, Grizzly Bear & Bon Iver.
The record was recorded over a period of 11 months with producer Linda van Leeuwen (Bombay Show Pig) overseeing sessions in the Netherlands and Belgium with Thijs van der Klugt (Baskerville, NL) and Pascal Deweze (Broken Glass Heroes/Sukilove, BE).
A lot of talented guests added their touch too, like percussionist Frank Wienk (BINKBEATS), hornplayer Jan Dekker (Blaudzun) and Mathias Janmaat (Bombay Show Pig, CHEATERS), who co-wrote the track ‘Fool’s Gold’.
