TARRUS RILEY

Support: Alaine.Being a member of The Rastafari Movement and the son of Jamaican reggae singer Jimmy Riley, Tarrus Riley knows how to please his audience: he has proven to be a versatile musician and great songwriter in past years. His new CD ‘Love Situation’ gives us an exquisite reason to invite him to The Hague for a show. From DJ to Reggae heroRiley's career starts in 2004, when his debut album 'Challenges' is launched. He was working as a DJ before and was yet unfamilliar to his own voice. He let others convince him of his strengths as a singer, and by doing so he was embraced and praised by the reggae world within only a few years' time. Though the purists may be sceptical, by fusing pop, rock and reggae influences on his first record, Tarrus succeeds to make an interesting bridge between different genres.

Flirting with pop and rock
On his new record ‘Love Situation’, we get to hear his crystal clear, soulful tenor voice, once again shamelessly blending pop, rock and reggae. Even the scepticists will have to admit that Tarrus Riley is an artist who does not let anyone down.
