Kurupt and Daz were first announced together as Tha Dogg Pound with “Niggas Don’t Give a Fuck,” their contribution to the soundtrack of Poetic Justice in 1993. Later that year, they reappeared as Tha Dogg Pound on Doggystyle, Snoop Doggy Dogg’s solo debut, where they were featured on several tracks, including the hit single “Doggy Dogg World.”
Tha Dogg Pound’s debut album “Dogg Food” is considered a classic of 90s west-coast hip-hop. They released this album in 1995, which was also their first and only album with Death Row Records. The album was a huge success, reaching the top of the Billboard 200 album chart. The album’s biggest hit, “Let’s Play House,” also landed on the charts. Tha Dogg Pound remained active thereafter, rapping on both 2Pac’s All Eyez on Me and Snoop’s Tha Doggfather.
