Guitar play at lightning speed and a melancholic voice: the British indiesound is in good hands with The Wedding Present. Even though the depressed vocals and melancholic melodies do sometimes remind you of Morrissey (The Smiths), The Wedding Present does mix it with a tasteful punk-sauce with audible influences of The Fall and The Buzzcocks.

The band from Leeds, founded in 1985, was seen as one of the most promising indiebands of that time. Even though David Getch & co never really had a big breakthrough to the mainstream public, there are a lot of hearts that will skip a beat when hearing hits as ‘Go Out And Get ‘Em, Boy!’ and ‘Everything’s Spoiled Again’.
