WALTZBURG

Thursday 31 October 2024 2024

Waltzburg‘s alternative pop tells the story of friendship, getting older, accepting flaws and finding love. The group finds its origins in Nijmegen’s nightlife, where singer Menno Krivokutya gradually gathers several musicians around him. This band, which will become Waltzburg, steadily builds a good live reputation in the following years. A period of radio silence follows the 2019 album Cut the Wire and the 2021 EP Let’s All Pretend. On October 31, this Nijmegen-based alternative group will be in our Kleine Zaal!

The songs on the new album take shape during the pandemic and the period after, when Menno and band member Nicole Jansen become parents to their first child.

Black Cat on Your Doormat is a pithy album with strong, energetic songs with a dark edge. The album was recorded with Pieter-Jan Coppejans at the Robot Studios in Ghent. The recording process was completed at the Schenk Studio in Amsterdam, under the watchful eye of Pieter Vonk.

Waltzburg consists of Joost Klapmuts (bass/keys), Jesse Smits (guitar/keys), Luuk Gerards (drums), Nicole Jansen (vocals/keys) and Menno Krivokutya (vocals/guitar).
